Keith Geyer School of Karate

 

The chief instructor of the club is Keith Geyer. Sensei Keith has practised Karate for over four decades and obtained his 7th Dan in September 2000 in Japan under the auspices of the Japan Karate Association (JKA). Keith competed in the international arena for 14 years, representing South Africa against the United States of America, England, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Italy.He won the South African Open All Styles Kumite title six times and was a three-time winner of the South African JKA Kumite title.

Club Information

The style of karate we practice is known as Shotokan.

It is the method originally pioneered by the Okinawan Master Gichin Funakoshi and further developed in Japan by Master Masatoshi Nakayama.

Location

Training is held at the Caulfield Scout Hall, 1 Beavis Street, Caulfield. Melways Ref 67H3. Beavis Street is directly off Glen Huntly Road near Coles Supermarket. Just look out for the 'BUMPS' surfshop sign.
